About:
I painted this piece in the beginning of June as I was hearing more news about people in the LGBTQ+ community getting attacked in a variety of ways during Pride Month. In the midst of racial tensions in the US, homicides of Black trans women have been occurring on almost a weekly basis. In addition to this, with COVID still heavily affecting the Black community, I thought of the youth who are struggling as it is in the current climate, and how it must affect them if they see folx having violent acts done to them. I hope that this small print will remind us to protect the beauty of humanity.
